Detailed Description
(Brighton, MI 48116) Position located in Brighton, MI. The position of the Maintenance Assistant will be required to perform a variety of vocational skills such as welding, plumbing, and electrical trouble shooting. Must be able to lift 70 lbs and be able to work in confined spaces. Must not have a fear of heights and be able to climb a ladder. Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Respirator test and possess a valid driver's license. Will report to the Maintenance Manager and or the Operations Manager with secondary reporting to the Shift Supervisor. Duties: Minor welding, fabricating and repairing tooling. Repair work. Plumbing. Pipe Sweating. Use of adhesive materials when working with PVC pipe and fitting. Repair or installation of black pipe. Some understanding of electrical, read blue prints and schematic. Employee will be required to work safely around high voltage circuits such as 480V, 230V, 120V, including lockout & tag out practices. Pumps-assist in removing/repairing all types: horizontal, vertical, metering, centrifugal.
Preventative Maintenance-Entering into confined spaces safely. Cleaning of all types of tanks (dumping, rinsing and shoveling) Working with Hazardous chemicals safely, including PPE practice. Completing all paperwork required. Any other job related functions.
Qualifications
