Trillium Construction Services is recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Estimator for a DIRECT HIRE position!

Mechanical Estimator (Sheet Metal, Piping or Plumbing)
Position will be base out of Greensboro, NC office.  Position will require travel to project sites as needed.  Provide project quantity take offs of mechanical systems including HVAC, Sheet Metal, Piping, and Plumbing.  Coordination with vendors, and sub-contractors.  Responsible for all aspects of cost estimation for mechanical projects.

Job Responsibilities will include:
- Order plans and specifications and upon receipt, log in.
- Review general and supplemental condtions.
- Review mechanical specifications section and all drawings.
- Submit written request to minority subcontracting firms, technical sales and vendors.
- Contract mechanical technical sales and subcontractors.
- Develop a detailed “Take Off” of equipment and materials and send copies to suppliers for pricing and labor rates (manually or electronically).
- Receive and evaluate quotes for adherence to specifications and competitive pricing.
- Evaluate quotes, list labor, apply applicable sales tax, payroll taxes, and insurance, list selected subcontractors and pricing and inspection fees to obtain cost.
- Perform in house analysis regarding length of project with regard to labor costs and adjust above totals, if necessary.
- Compile estimate information for bid form.
- Add overhead, profit, bond and submit bid proposals.
- Bid Documents returned with a letter of transmittal to be filed on unsuccessful bids.
- Any other job-related duties as may be assigned.
- Required to attend jobsite pre-bid meetings.
- Develop and nurture subcontract relationships.
- Obtain service/rigging related quotations.
- Assist Project Managers in transition phases from estimate to the project.
- Delegate to and supervise estimator take-off personnel.
- As work load varies, individual will be required to handle project management responsibilities on an “as needed basis”.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years job related experience.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical contracting.
- Proficiency with estimating software (Quickpen).
- Excel, WordPerfect, and other appropriate software.
- Must be physically present to perform these duties.
