Senior Mechanical Engineer

Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer -  Successful candidate will drive product development and new technologies thru the following activities:  Design, development and testing of diesel engine driven compressor packages. Includes engineering of compressor subsystems, and supporting components (structural frames, coolers, fans, valves, tanks, motors, diesel engines, pneumatic and electronic controls). Develop test plans, organize, interpret and summarize experimental data.  Develop, review and approve engineering drawings and specifications.  Manage resources, utilizing the appropriate tools to meet quality, performance, timing and cost deliverables.  Effectively communicate with teams and management to facilitate workflow and affect resolution to project barriers and problems.
Capture applicable functional process turn-backs and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement in the product development process. Requirements include: Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering required. 5+ years of experience in design and a demonstrated high level of technical project management skills. Application of mechanical, thermodynamic, and heat transfer principals in the design, development and testing of mechanical and/or electro mechanical components and systems. Compressor, engine, or other rotating equipment knowledge a plus.  Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills highly desired. Proficiency in problem solving techniques with proven results strongly recommended.  Must be a fully developed professional able to work without direct guidance or direction from others.  Knowledge of CAD system parts modeling, assembly and drawing packages a plus.  Desire to continuously seek improvement in existing process.  Adept PC skills with a strong knowledge and previous utilization of project management software (MS Project) and a thorough understanding of phase gate new product development processes highly desired.  Proven ability to master several components of a project or a complex component for a large project.
