Instructional Designer

Description

Instructional Designer - This position is responsible for assisting in the development and design of training materials for sales and technical service on client’s products and services. The materials will be used to deliver training to external customers, channel partners, distributors, and employees.  This role will work closely with Sales, Product Marketing, and the Technical Service Groups to identify and understand training needs and deliverables to meet the demand.  Position is responsible for development of training materials to support off site- field based, on-site web-based and classroom self paced training.  Identifies training opportunities based on defined performance gaps and learning needs that supports business growth. Manages multiple instructional development projects. Works closely with service technicians to ensure curriculum is focused on current needs. Communicates to service/training manager, marketing, and sales on the status, effectiveness, and road map of assigned training programs.  Requirements include: Four year degree or work equivalent in the areas of Instructional Design. Must have experience in designing technical training programs.  Experience in training media and/or technology to create classroom, self-study, on-line and webinar programs. Demonstrated ability to create interactive training programs that appeal to a variety of knowledge levels.
Proficiency in Micro Soft Office suite. Working knowledge of computer graphic packages such as Corel Draw, Camtasia Studio 7, and Apple Quick time.  Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to think critically; to recognize/anticipate a problem and to identify and implement solutions in a timely manner.  Prior experience in the compressor industries with mechanical and electrical maintenance solution strategies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: BS Degree required or equivalent working experience in Instructional / Learning design. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4 years of working experience required. IND. EXP: Manufacturing, Aerospace, Industrial, Learning and Development, Automotive, Financial, Government services.
