Second shift Machine shop team leader position.

Description

Great opportunity for a skilled candidate to be a Team leader for second shift machine shop and welding department. They will be a hands on leader in the shop. This candidate will be working as a machinist with the rest of the team helping to make good production decisions. The role involves approximately 60% of scheduled work time assisting associates.  The remaining approximate 40% of scheduled work time will be running one or more machining work centers. The position is responsible for leading and developing associates/teams to build capability and sustainability.

Qualifications

Past proven leadership experience in machine shop required. 
Prior experience programming and operating CNC machines in a job shop environment
Knowledge of welding procedures a big plus.
Skilled at coaching and developing a team to a high level of performance.
Blueprint reading and strong communication skills.
Understand/embrace change and champion it to associates and be a problem-solver.
Able to minimize labor costs.
Be main point of contact with Project Leaders and other manufacturing departments.
Computer skills.
