NPD Design Engineer

A direct hire position as a New Product Design Engineer is now available.
Description
The NPD Design Engineer will lead projects and phases of programs of minimal to moderate complexity. The employee must have some relevant work experience and have mastered basic engineering skills. The position is mostly self-directed and a moderate level of creativity (i.e. looking for innovative solutions) is expected.
Specific Duties Include:
1. Design of simple to complex products using 3-D CAD.
2. Conduct research and provide estimates for component and prototype equipment production cost to develop project justifications.
3. Troubleshoot product specifications, drawings, and part assembly.
4. Improve product designs to increase manufacturing efficiency.
5. Routinely report on assigned projects, including project hours, costs, justifications, and progress updates.
6. Conduct audits to perform quality checks of product designs.
7. Write technical reports on research findings, testing, and proposed projects.
8. Perform Strength Analyses of mechanical components and systems.
Qualifications
1. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering related field AND at least 3 years of Engineer related experience.
2. Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
3. Requires no less than three years of experience using 3-D CAD.
4. Requires no less than three years of experience in word processing, spreadsheet software, internet and email.
5. Requires no less than two years of experience utilizing measurement instruments and interpreting data.
6. Requires no less than two years of experience participating in problem identification and definition of product designs.
7. Requires no less than three years of experience applying engineering fundamentals and calculations to support design decisions.
8. Requires no less than two years of experience making cost estimates and proposals.
9. Requires general knowledge of GD&T application.
10. Requires the understanding and application of trigonometry, calculus and statistics.
11. Requires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report.
12. Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
13. Requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time both domestically and internationally.
