Trillium Staffing Solutions has a unique Product Engineering Team Leader opportunity at a construction manufacturing company in the Ann Arbor area.

Description

* The responsibility of the Product Engineering Team Leader is to optimize the design and application personnel in the most effective manner to achieve established metrics for safety, quality, cost, and productivity.

* Take responsibility and provide leadership to the engineering staff, customers (both internal and external), and manage the engineering processes and procedures.

* Develop a high-performance team with high levels of morale, job satisfaction, and performance.

* Design, develop, and test products following standard engineering process.  Manage product engineering projects within cost and time requirements.

* Verifies specifications on bids and special orders and other projects within designated product line as requested.
* Evaluate new manufacturing technologies and recommend changes for cost effective designs and manufacturing ability

* Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service departments to actively seek out ideas for new products and redesign on existing products.

* Attends trade shows and seminars, as necessary, to remain current with trends in designing for cost effectiveness and manufacturing ability

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Agricultural, Mechanical, or related) required coupled with a minimum of 4 years prior work experience in a manufacturing setting or field service environment.

* Proven problem solving skills and demonstrated decision-making skills are required; effective interpersonal skills are necessary. 

* Essential traits for this position are experienced leadership and an innovative approach; a self-starter who enjoys the challenge of implementing continuous improvement activities; proficient computer skills including Microsoft applications.
