Tool and Die Repair Technicians!

Description

Analyzes tooling problems and improvement opportunities, troubleshoots stamping dies, repairs stamping dies, operates machine tools, disassembles and assembles dies, fixtures, and gauges, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Follows all policies and procedures as outlined in the TS16949 and ISO 14001 Operating Manuals as they relate to the job function.
- Analyzes and troubleshoots tooling problems and recommends improvements to manual, progressive and transfer metal stamping dies.
- Provides diagnosis of die repair requirements, damage, and solutions to dimensional problems with stamping dies. 
- Make necessary corrections to stamping dies to bring dies to correct dimensional status.
- Sets up and operates machine tools for tool repair and improvement.
- Welds dies as required.
- Assists Production with die problems and tooling improvements.
- Observes and practices good safety principles.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

LICENSED JOURNEYMAN TOOLMAKER Minimum 3 to 5 years experience.

- Understand tool and die metal stamping principles and operation.
- Utilizes applicable measuring equipment, work instructions, and control plans.
- Demonstrate ability to run tryout presses and production presses safely and effectively.
- Demonstrate ability to complete all applicable paperwork associated with this job title.
- Understands and is capable of performing lockout/tag out.
- Must have Fork Lift operator license and Crane Operator License.
- Works safely at all times
- Demonstrate ability to use all tool room equipment, machinery and welding equipment.
- Understand press, stretching and contouring processes.
