Software Engineer - South Bend, IN

Description

Software Engineer - South Bend, IN - Candidate develops and maintains software for Friction Welding Machines. Develops and maintains machine software, is responsible for the architecture and programming conventions of the existing software applications, provides phone support to customers,  is responsible for working with Controls Engineers to assist in the start-up, de-bug, and run-off of equipment & trains in the architecture and programming conventions of the existing software applications and follows the established standards.  Required skills include: Ability to develop and modify computer programs in C,C++ and/or Visual Basic. From time to time the Software Engineer may have additional projects that may involve maintenance and improvement of the company’s SQL-based ERP software package and other IT/Network administration tasks.  Must be able and willing to travel as needed.  Must be eligible to work in the US permanently.  Preferred skills include:  Ability to work with Ladder Logic, HMI development software. Understanding of manufacturing machinery, especially controls.  Understanding of basic electrical circuits. Foreign Language experience helpful (Spanish, German, Chinese or French).
