Description
Our client a leader in Engineering and Manufacturing, is currently seeking several experienced Controls Engineers! Primary duties to include:
A. Assemble equipment utilizing the skills listed below and maintain a working knowledge of codes and standards as they apply to the mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic/hydraulic fields, respectively:
1) Read and interpret assembly drawings, details, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals or specifications.
2) Manufacture brackets utilizing common shop tools, i.e. power saws, drill presses, welding machines. Properly layout and mount components, identify proper fittings, measure, cut, bend thread and install conduit, pipe, tube and/or hose for installation of and wiring per schematics, wiring diagrams or other information.
3) Use basic instruments to assist in start-up, troubleshooting, repair or calibration of vendor- or otherwise-supplied components.
4) Operate lift trucks and cranes after proper qualification.
5) Utilize tools customary to this type of work including, but not limited to, items such as powered saws, drills, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.
6) Mechanical
* Assemble, fit, and align mechanical fixtures, drivelines, conveyor lines, pumps and motors, etc. using measuring devices such as OD and ID calipers, depth micrometers, alignment tools, and other equipment available. Have a working knowledge of scraping and/or tolerances to be able to properly fit gibs slides, cylindrical bearings, and other related items.
7) Electrical
* Wire back panels, enclosures and field devices, properly layout and install electrical and electronic devices in/on equipment, etc. using conduit, cables, troughs, or other interconnect means. Must be able to solder and crimp connectors per specifications.
8) Pneumatic and Hydraulic
* Identify fittings required, thread sizes, layout circuits, mount components, bend and install tube, assemble and hook-up hoses, install piping, etc. to achieve the maximum results of the circuit. Set pressures and flows, accurate circuits and verify proper actuation of components prior to start-up and debug.
9) To insure the delivery of aesthetically, functional and maintainable industrial equipment.
10) Adhere to project schedules and milestones.
B. Assist in the debug and functionality of the machine(s). As assigned, assist or assume debug responsibility on projects using instrumentation necessary to startup, troubleshoot, calibrate or repair B&K-, vendor-, or otherwise-supplied components. Develop comprehensive troubleshooting and debug skills.
C. Perform installation and field service as required on equipment, including travel to customer facilities. Fill out service reports in detail as needed, interface with the customer on identification and resolution of problems, and present a positive impression of B&K.
D. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of B&K Business Management System and procedures.
E. Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have at least 3 years of experience and knowledge in the areas listed above as well as be able to pass pre-employment screening.
