DESIGN ENGINEER

DESIGN ENGINEER - Our client, located in South Bend, IN has immediate openings for Design Engineers.  Candidates should be involved directly in the design & build of machines and not just involved in the installation and debugging of an existing machine. Also, experience in tool, fixture or jig design is of little benefit. Client is looking for candidates who have been involved in the design of the primary portions of the machine. Will not consider anyone with solely product design background, from automation/ material handling design, or from automotive. Candidates must be versed in regular use of base engineering skills during their normal duties, including use of analytical methods as required (FEA, stress calculations, deflection analysis, etc).  Candidates should demonstrate taking a structured approach to their assignments, such as PDCA (plan-do-check-act), and using the corresponding process tools. Candidates should meet the high-end of the education requirements (e.g. Bachelors in Engineering, preferably mechanical). The preference is for candidates with 5-10 years experience. There are no supervisory requirements for this position.
