Description
The Lead Mechanical Engineer should have a BSME or equivalent degree plus10 years experience, with 6 years designing automatic transmission assemblies or components. The engineer must have an understanding of automatic transmission operation and controls, and the use of computer aided engineering techniques used to design the assembly and its components. Basic engineering knowledge; Familiarity with front wheel drive automatic transmissions and GD&T. Experience with Function Models and DFMEA. The candidate should have excellent Communication Skills and Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint Proficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design and simultaneous engineering efforts.
- Coordinate design and specification transfer from supplier partner to the company design standards.
- Conduct simultaneous engineering meetings with AME, Supplier Partner and manufacturing plant personal.
- Participate with Global Sourcing & SQA to insure integrity of supplier component parts and assemblies.
- Develop and maintain Boundary Diagrams, Function Models and DFMEA’s for component parts and assemblies.
Qualifications
- BSME or equivalent degree.
- 10 years experience.
