Description

The Powertrain Engineer should have a BSME or equivalent degree plus 10 years experience, with 6 years of development & testing of automatic transmission assemblies or components. Lead mechanical development and test engineering efforts.  Engineer must have an understanding of automatic transmission operation and the testing techniques required for the validation of the assembly and its components. The ideal candidate will have DVP&R experience. Familiarity with Powertrain or Electric Transmission Dynamometers. The engineer should possess excellent Communication Skills. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint Proficiency. 

Responsibilities:

- Conduct simultaneous engineering meetings with Scientific Test Labs, Proving Grounds, Supplier Partner and Trans Lab personal.
- Reports to department supervisor and provides regular written accomplishments.
- Develop and maintain the DVP&R, and successfully complete all testing required to ensure reliability of the automatic transmission assembly and its components.
- Perform tear down analysis of tested automatic transmissions with supplier partner and store all reports in data base.
- Provide direction to suppliers on testing specifications and procedures.  - Lead regular development reviews.    - Procure preproduction prototype parts & material for builds and testing, as required.
- Develop timing and monitor supplier progress toward validation milestone dates and support development of recovery actions as required.

Qualifications

- BSME degree.
- 10 years experience.
