Description
Senior Quality Engineer reports directly to the plant manager and is responsible for quality engineering support to ensure that quality and operations goals are met. The QE is responsible for all product and process quality. Duties include establishing and maintaining effective process control systems, operator work instructions, and related visual management aids to support ongoing parts manufacturing. The QE will develop, implement, and maintain quality system policies and procedures per the TS16949 quality system standard. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced and demonstrate competency in problem-solving, data analysis and presentation, decision-making, flexibility, planning and organizing, self-initiative, and interpersonal skills. Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is essential. Candidate must be familiar with TS16949 requirements and AIAG standard automotive guidelines: APQP, PPAP, FEMA, etc.
Key Responsibilities
*
*Develop and plan to ensure that the plants quality system is in compliance with TS16949 and serve as primary interface with the quality registrar.
*Ensure training of plant personnel in the requirements, documentation and maintenance of the quality system
*Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, and procedures pertaining to product and process quality assurance and continuous improvement
*Report to management on the plant quality performance, any non-compliance issues, and recommended actions.
*Refine and improve plant processed to incorporate error-proofing techniques and active process controls.
*Establish and maintain clear operator standard work instructions and visual aids
*Implement a corrective action system: monitor and assign corrective actions to appropriate plant personnel for completion and verify effectiveness.
*Work with suppliers to ensure conformity of purchased material and products to quality standards.
*Champion the reduction of waste and other Cost of Quality contributors
*Minimum of 5 years experience In an automotive manufacturing environment BS/BA degree in an engineering or technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
*Minimum of 6 -8 years of quality department experience in a complex manufacturing environment
