Electrical Estimator -                                          One of the largest utility contractors in the Midwest, located just SW of Allentown, PA, has an immediate opening for an Estimator. This position will assist in the development of technical scopes of work and independently develop cost estimates and resource requirements for capital construction projects involving overhead transmission and distribution lines and substations. The role will also provide support to request for proposal (RFP) preparation and evaluations, project specifications, and pricing schedules for the Company’s transmission, distribution and substation construction system. Will independently prepare pre-approval project estimates based on limited information and general scopes of work, often lacking specific precedence. Assist project team in scoping of projects for engineering, construction, and contractual requirements. Develop detailed post-approval project estimates based on company standards and site specific facility drawings. Independently, will perform material take-offs and cost analyses to support estimates. Jointly develop pricing schedules and weighting criteria for proposal evaluations, and provide expert judgment of costs to support competitive bid and negotiated contracts. With general direction, contribute to the development of standardized historical cost databases ad application tools to aid futures estimates.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants should possess a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience. In addition, have a minimum of 3-5 years estimating experience in the utility construction industry. Competitive Salary (DOE) plus 15% annual bonus, vehicle, Full benefits including 401K.
