PROJECT MANAGER-Structural Steel/Erection

The Project Manager position is primarily responsible for the daily management, coordination and successful completion of construction projects to meet time and cost objectives with respect to contract administration, budgetary considerations, and scheduling. The Project Manager is responsible to the company for the profitability and client satisfaction of assigned projects.


Position Purpose
The Project Manager is primarily responsible to plan, direct and coordinate a work plan, communications plan and project management activities of assigned projects to ensure milestone deliverables and financial objectives are accomplished within prescribed timeframes and budget parameters.  Project Management responsibilities include providing project management to assigned projects in regards to maintaining positive customer and vendor relationships, involvement with estimating, and providing supervision to subcontractors delivering a highly successful and safe project that is completed on time and within budget

Major Tasks and Key Accountabilities
*    Perform project management activities throughout construction progress to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
*    Providing overall contract administration throughout close-out of assigned projects, ensuring that the project is constructed in accordance with the contract requirements
*    Providing overall leadership to the project team to ensure a safe, profitable & timely completed project

Qualifications

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
*      Understanding of steel fabrication estimates for labor, material, and erection.
*      Proficient at reading and understanding contract documents for construction projects.
*      Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
*      Knowledge of all aspects of construction process, procurement, project costs / forecasting / estimating, scheduling and close-out.
*      Ability to present strategies, plans, findings and results in individual as well as group settings.
*      Must be able to effectively develop / manage internal and external relationships
*      Must be computer literate with the standard Microsoft Office Suite of applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Our client has been serving the Steel Fabrication Industry for over 17 years.  Their projects range from miscellaneous steel to commercial and institutional builds, and industrial installations.
