Project Architect Responsibilities
This company’s Real Estate Development department is seeking a Project Architect with prison/criminal justice architecture experience. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, design sensitive, and has excellent organizational and communications skills. Works as an integral part of a project team, ensuring the translation of design intent into construction documentation. This position must have experience producing construction documents in order to communicate effectively with the consultant architects and engineers.

Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, or other acceptable related field with at least five years of design architect, project manager, or project architect experience is required. Prison/criminal justice project experience preferred. Professional licensure in the state of Tennessee (or ability to acquire Tennessee license) is required. LEED accreditation preferred. Proficient in procedures for the production of design and construction documents, architectural planning, building materials and construction means and methods. Working knowledge and basic competency in site planning, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering to the extent necessary to coordinate and integrate these disciplines. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Applications is required. Experience with the preparation of construction documents and maintaining an established budget and schedule. A valid driver’s license is required.
