Description
Develops models, prepares drawings, and makes changes to models and drawings from information supplied by customers or Engineering department through the use of a CAD system. Support the other Engineering team members and internal customers as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
* Support our internal customers as required
* Create prints and models from customer and internal supplied information
* Modify existing models and prints through the use of Unigraphics and Solidworks.
* Verifies models, prints and audit sheets for dimensions, notes, and clarity as a first and secondary check.
* Supplies 2D or 3D information to the CNC programmer.
* Makes copies of prints for distribution to the different departments as required.
* Works with other departments to answer questions that may arise on interpreting a part or print.
* Maintains programs and files on Engineering computers and storage drivers.
* Move approved models to the approved directory
* Review and approve Engineering Changes as required
* Lead in the development of Departmental Modeling and Drafting standards and best practices
* Additional duties as requested by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
Minimum two year associates degree from an accredited college or technical school; five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Complex or Class A surface modeling experience is required.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers (internal and external) and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Technical Skills
* Working knowledge of personal computer, keyboard, and various software programs.
* Knowledge of various office equipment.
* Knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing.
* Working knowledge of Unigraphics.
* Working knowledge of manufacturing process.
* Working knowledge of layout/inspection equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
