Construction Electrical Engineer/Project Manager
Detailed Description
Reports to: President
Job Summary:
Responsible for designing, developing and supervising the development of equipment, processes, systems and subsystems that rely on electricity to work, while focusing on economy, safety and reliability; Project involvement from conception through implementation and testing.
Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1. Identify customer requirements and translate them into design specifications
2. Design electrical systems and special products: industrial, commercial, electrical, lighting, controls; Select and recommend materials
3. Read and design specifications and technical drawings (i.e. Blue prints)
4. Research suitable solutions and estimate costs and timescales
5. Liaison with other departments, suppliers, customers, and contractors
6. Supervise construction plans and specifications; Expedite process when necessary
7. Attend meetings on site
8. Design and conduct tests; Record, analyze and interpret test data; Propose modifications
9. Qualify final product or system
10. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
11. Prepare product documentation, write reports, performance requirements and instructions; Develop maintenance schedules; Give presentations as needed
12. Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting
13. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Required-
* High school diploma or GED
* Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related field
* Minimum 2 years experience in electrical construction
* Ability to lift objects up to 70 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently
* Ability to see in full color
* Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness and good sense of balance
* Bend, stoop, climb, stand, stretch, reach and lift arms above shoulder height repeatedly or continually over time
* National Electrical Code (NEC) knowledge
* Leadership and supervisory skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Good math skills, including basic algebra
* Ability to read and/or understand electrical diagrams & blueprints
Desired-
* General knowledge of installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
* Flexibility to travel long distances to job sites
* Independence skills: a self-starter with the ability to work efficiently on their own
* Good attendance history
